GKS FAQs: How do I submit my GKS Application Forms?

Hello everyone! Welcome to my blog!

Congratulations on finishing your application forms. I know you spent a lot of time processing requirements and documents. So, it is time for you to finally submit it. Yehey! but....how? See below my tips on how to send your GKS application forms for both tracks.

Submitting GKS forms: Embassy Track

Hooray! This is the easiest compared to University Track (in most cases, except, if you are a foreigner in South Korea who lives near the University to which you are applying, haha).

If you are near the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in your home country, then you may submit it personally. If you are far from the embassy, just submit it via courier of your choice. In any case, since you are just submitting to the embassy within your country, expenses will be cheap compared to University Track.

Submitting GKS forms: University Track

Once you have made up your mind to that one and only one university which you want to be in, submit it via courier. Usually, it takes up to 7 days for your documents to reach your university. The cost may be a little more expensive since you are sending docs abroad.

NOTE: PLEASE FOLLOW GKS-G 2021 GUIDELINES. THEY REQUIRE ALL DOCUMENTS TO BE IN A4 SIZE. PLEASE READ THOROUGHLY.

TIPS for both tracks:

1. Your documents should not be stapled. If possible, just use paper clips.

2. Your documents must be arranged and properly labeled (as per GKS guidelines: UPPER RIGHT).

3. Your documents are preferred to be printed, not handwritten, for convenience and clarity of information placed.

4. Place all your documents in a document envelope. Note: Suggestion Only - you may tweak this on your preference: I suggest, label the front envelope it indicating YOUR NAME, COUNTRY, PROGRAM YOU ARE APPLYING (GKS-G or GKS-U), YOUR EMAIL. . .label the back of the envelope with NAME OF THE GKS COORDINATOR in that Uni, NAME OF UNI, and ADDRESS of Uni.

                                                                 Sample - Back

5. Take note of the Deadline for Submission for both tracks, especially for University Track in which you should send way ahead of the deadline to give ample time for the courier services to arrive within the submission date.

*Make some research. *Ask your fellow applicant for guidance. *Please triple check everything before you submit. Please bear in mind that this application will change your future so be careful and do your best. Fighting!!! :)

Hope this helps!

    1. Hi. It is okay. First, locate the top most part of the paper and move to the right. Place label example: 9. Certoficate of Bachelor's Degree.

Only submit documents that are applicable to you, not the whole GKS app forms. :)

  2. Should I also level the forms like the Personal Statement, etc.? Or just the documents starting from certificate bachelors degree? Some said that we should also label the forms but I'm not sure if it should really be labeled.

  3. Hello , is the labelling format on the envelope same for sending to the embassy? And while applying through embassy track should we contact the embassy first to know if they are accepting the applications or send the documents with any prior notice to the embassy as they can check? Thank you in advance.

    1. Before submitting docs to Embassy of the Republic of Korea in your home country, wait for their anouncement first on their website.

Submit documents as per GKS Guidelines.
